Anti-NTF4 Antibody

Polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets Neurotrophin-4 (NTF4), a secreted growth factor in the neurotrophin family that supports neuronal survival and differentiation through activation of the TrkB receptor. Raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated reagent in a 100 µl vial, this reagent is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows performed on human samples.

Researchers use anti-NTF4 antibodies to map neurotrophin expression in developing and adult nervous tissue, to probe TrkB signaling in cultured neurons and neuroblastoma lines, and to investigate altered neurotrophin levels in studies of neurodegeneration and psychiatric disorders. Its reactivity against human NTF4 makes the antibody a useful tool for surveying neurotrophin distribution in post-mortem brain sections and for resolving endogenous NTF4 in cell lysates by SDS-PAGE and immunoblotting, as well as for staining fixed neural and peripheral tissue preparations.

Because neurotrophins are typically expressed at low abundance and are sensitive to fixation chemistry, working concentrations and antigen retrieval conditions should be optimized empirically for each sample type. The unconjugated format allows direct coupling to enzyme, fluorophore, or biotin labels depending on the detection chemistry required.
