Anti-NSE/Enolase Antibody

This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets neuron-specific enolase (NSE), a cytoplasmic glycolytic isoenzyme (also called gamma-enolase or ENO2) that is expressed predominantly in mature neurons and in cells of neuroendocrine origin.

The reagent is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antiserum at 1 mg/ml in PBS, with 0.1% sodium azide added as a preservative and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant for storage at -20°C. Freeze-thaw cycles should be minimised by aliquoting upon arrival.

Validated for western blot across human, mouse, and rat sample lysates, the antibody detects the approximately 47 kDa enolase monomer under reducing SDS-PAGE conditions. The unconjugated format allows users to pair the reagent with HRP-, alkaline phosphatase-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies of their choice.

Common research uses include profiling NSE expression in neuroblastoma and small cell lung carcinoma cell models, tracking neuronal differentiation in induced pluripotent stem cell workflows, and characterising neuronal-enriched brain tissue homogenates or cerebrospinal fluid preparations in neurotoxicology studies.
