Neuron-Specific Enolase (NSE) is a gamma-dimer enolase isoform expressed predominantly in neurons and neuroendocrine cells, where it functions as a glycolytic enzyme. The protein circulates at elevated levels in patients with small cell lung carcinoma and neuroblastoma, which is why anti-NSE reagents are widely used as circulating tumour and neuronal-injury markers. This Mouse monoclonal antibody, designated clone 145, recognises the human target and is supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated IgG2b reagent in lyophilised form, packaged as 100 µg per vial. The antibody is validated for ELISA and Western blot workflows, where it detects the approximately 46 kDa gamma-enolase subunit in cell lysates, tissue homogenates, and recombinant preparations. Researchers use this clone to confirm neuronal differentiation in stem cell-derived cultures, characterise neuroendocrine tumour cell lines, and benchmark biomarker assays in translational studies. Lyophilised aliquots should be reconstituted in sterile buffer, snap-frozen for long-term storage, and protected from repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity across multiple experiments.
