Neuropilin-1 (NRP1) is a single-pass transmembrane glycoprotein best known as a co-receptor for class III semaphorins and specific VEGF-A isoforms. The polyclonal rabbit IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against this target and supplied as an unconjugated antiserum in a 200 µl vial, intended for western blot workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples.
NRP1 contributes to angiogenic sprouting, endothelial cell migration, axon guidance during neural development, and immune cell signaling. Investigators probe its expression in studies of tumor vascularization, vascular permeability under inflammatory conditions, and viral entry mechanisms where the receptor can facilitate SARS-CoV-2 attachment. The antibody detects endogenous NRP1 in whole-cell and tissue lysates separated by SDS-PAGE and transferred to nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes.
Brief centrifugation before opening is advised, and aliquoting helps limit freeze-thaw cycles. Store at -20°C in working volumes; for research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
