Neural Retina Leucine Zipper (NRL) is a Maf-family basic leucine zipper transcription factor that governs rod photoreceptor cell fate and drives expression of rod-specific genes such as rhodopsin. The Antibodies.com polyclonal antibody to NRL is raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated reagent at 1 mg/ml in Phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide, adjusted to approximately pH 7.2. Each vial contains 100 µl of working solution, sufficient for multiple western blot experiments on retinal tissue or transfected cell lysates.

Validated for western blot (WB) detection, the antibody recognizes endogenous NRL protein in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting studies of photoreceptor development, circadian regulation of visual signalling, and disease models of retinitis pigmentosa where NRL loss-of-function variants have been implicated. Store the vial at -20 °C for long-term stability, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles by aliquoting upon first use, and keep on ice during active western blot workflows.

As a polyclonal reagent, this antibody targets multiple epitopes across the NRL protein, increasing the likelihood of detection even when single-nucleotide variants alter individual binding sites. Researchers investigating retinal degeneration, transcription factor networks in the outer nuclear layer, or comparative photoreceptor biology across mammalian model organisms will find this reagent a practical primary antibody for routine western blot confirmation of NRL expression.
