Rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against Nuclear Respiratory Factor 1 (NRF1), supplied by Antibodies.com as a 50 µl aliquot of unconjugated antisera for use in western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows. NRF1 is a nuclear transcription factor that drives expression of core subunits of the mitochondrial respiratory chain and controls mtDNA replication and transcription, making the reagent useful in studies of mitochondrial biogenesis, oxidative phosphorylation regulation, and metabolic gene programmes in cultured mammalian cells and in tissues.

Generated in rabbit, the antibody recognises an epitope shared between human, mouse and rat NRF1, supporting comparative work in standard laboratory models of metabolic disease, neurodegeneration and cancer biology. Researchers apply it to track changes in respiratory complex subunit expression following pharmacological or genetic perturbation, and pair it with mitochondrial markers to characterise tissue-level energy metabolism by immunohistochemistry on rodent and human sections.

For western blot, the reagent is typically used on standard reducing SDS-PAGE gels with chemiluminescent or fluorescent detection. For immunohistochemistry, paraffin-embedded sections are dewaxed, rehydrated and subjected to antigen retrieval before overnight incubation with the primary antibody, followed by HRP- or fluorescence-based detection appropriate to the host species. Store at -20 °C in working aliquots; freeze-thaw cycles should be minimised to preserve antibody activity across repeated use.
