NR0B2 (also known as SHP, Small Heterodimer Partner) is an orphan nuclear receptor that lacks a conventional DNA-binding domain and functions as a transcriptional repressor of other nuclear receptors, including several involved in bile acid and glucose homeostasis. The Antibodies.com reagent is raised in rabbit and supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum; for best stability it should be stored at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles. Validation covers Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, rat, and mouse specimens. Researchers studying hepatic bile acid metabolism, cholesterol and lipid handling, NAFLD/NASH progression, and enteroendocrine signaling routinely probe NR0B2 induction downstream of FXR activation, fasting, or ER stress. In Western blot applications the reagent is used on whole-cell lysates from hepatocyte lines and primary liver tissue to resolve the ~28 kDa SHP band, while in IHC it supports staining of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections from liver, small intestine, and pancreas where SHP expression is examined in hepatocytes and enteroendocrine cells.
