A rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com raised against nuclear receptor subfamily 0 group B member 2 (NR0B2), the atypical orphan nuclear receptor commonly known as small heterodimer partner (SHP). The affinity-purified antibody is supplied unconjugated in a 200 µl vial at 1.0 mg/mL and is intended for research use only in metabolic disease and hepatic biology studies.

Validated for western blot at 1:500–1:2000, immunohistochemistry at 1:50–1:200, and immunofluorescence at 1:10–1:100, the polyclonal format enables recognition of multiple epitopes on the ~28 kDa endogenous target. The reagent cross-reacts with human, mouse, and rat NR0B2 and has been used to detect total receptor levels in liver tissue, primary hepatocytes, U2OS cells, and intestinal enterocyte preparations.

NR0B2 acts as a transcriptional repressor that lacks a conventional DNA-binding domain and partners with FXR, LRH-1, and HNF4α to suppress CYP7A1, CYP8B1, G6Pase, and PEPCK expression, making it central to bile acid synthesis, cholesterol homeostasis, and hepatic gluconeogenesis. Researchers studying cholestasis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, FXR agonist signaling, and circadian metabolic regulation routinely profile SHP to map FXR/SHP/LRH-1 feedback loops governing CYP enzymes.

For best stability, aliquot the vial upon arrival, store refrigerated, and limit freeze-thaw cycles so the IgG preparation retains activity across repeated western blot, IHC, and IF sessions.
