This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets NOTCH4, a single-pass transmembrane receptor of the conserved Notch family that governs cell fate decisions, vascular development, angiogenesis, and differentiation programs across multiple tissues. The unconjugated reagent is supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal serum raised in rabbit and is intended for detection of endogenous human NOTCH4 protein in research samples by western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC).

NOTCH4 signaling proceeds through ligand-triggered proteolytic cleavage at the S2 and S3 sites, liberating the Notch intracellular domain (NICD) that translocates to the nucleus and partners with CSL/RBP-Jκ co-activators to drive downstream gene expression, including members of the HES and HEY families. Dysregulated NOTCH4 activity has been reported in breast carcinoma, ovarian cancer, and certain hematologic malignancies, making this receptor a frequent subject of investigation in oncology, developmental biology, and vascular biology research programs.

Investigators commonly apply this reagent to characterize full-length and cleaved NOTCH4 species in transfected cell lines and primary tissue lysates, and to localize receptor expression in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections following antigen retrieval. Short-term storage at 4 °C is recommended; aliquoting and freezing at -20 °C extends usable lifetime and limits repeated freeze-thaw cycles that can degrade polyclonal performance. The unconjugated format permits pairing with user-selected secondary antibodies and chromogenic or fluorescent detection chemistries. For research use only.
