Anti-nNOS (Ab-852) Antibody

Neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) catalyses calcium/calmodulin-dependent production of nitric oxide in central and peripheral neurons, and the Antibodies.com Anti-nNOS (Ab-852) reagent supports western blot and immunofluorescence detection of the enzyme across human, mouse, and rat samples. Raised in rabbit as a polyclonal antibody and supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum, it recognises a region of nNOS corresponding to an epitope around residue 852.

Phosphorylation at sites near this region modulates coupling to PSD-95 family scaffolding proteins and influences catalytic output, making antibodies directed at this stretch useful for studies of nitrergic signalling in brain, spinal cord, and autonomic ganglia. Common applications include investigation of altered nNOS expression in neurodegeneration, stroke, and chronic pain models.

For long-term storage, freeze the antibody at -20°C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles; refrigerated short-term handling is appropriate for active use. In western blot, the immunoreactive band migrates near 160 kDa, consistent with full-length nNOS, while immunofluorescence with a fluorophore-conjugated secondary reveals subcellular distribution in neurons and peripheral nerve fibres.
