Raised in rabbit against the NKX2-5 transcription factor, this unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, and ships as a 100 µl vial ready for immediate dilution into standard working buffers.

NKX2-5 (also historically called CSX) is a homeodomain-containing transcription factor that occupies a top position in the regulatory network controlling vertebrate cardiac specification, cardiomyocyte differentiation, and conduction system identity. Heterozygous loss-of-function mutations in the gene are causally linked to familial secundum atrial septal defect, ventricular non-compaction, and progressive atrioventricular conduction block, which keeps NKX2-5 among the most heavily cited markers in cardiac developmental biology, pluripotent stem cell to cardiomyocyte differentiation studies, and congenital heart disease research.

Validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry, the reagent detects NKX2-5 protein in Mouse, Rat, and Human samples, supporting comparative work across the standard model organisms used in heart development programs. Store the vial refrigerated at 4°C for short-term use; for longer projects, aliquot and freeze to limit freeze-thaw cycles that can degrade polyclonal preparations over time.
