The Neurokinin-1 receptor (NK-1R), encoded by the TACR1 gene, is a class A G-protein coupled receptor that mediates the biological actions of the neuropeptide Substance P. Distributed across central nervous system neurons and a variety of peripheral tissues including smooth muscle, immune cells, and the gastrointestinal tract, NK-1R has been studied extensively for its roles in nociception, neurogenic inflammation, mood regulation, and the emetic reflex. NK-1R antagonists such as aprepitant are used clinically to control chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, which has further increased research interest in the receptor.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against NK-1R and validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples. Supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, the 100 µl volume is sufficient for multiple blotting or staining experiments. Researchers investigating pain pathways, neuropeptide signaling, or GPCR pharmacology will find this reagent useful for detecting receptor expression and localization in tissue sections and lysates.
