Anti-NGF Antibody

The polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against Nerve Growth Factor (NGF), a 13.5 kDa secreted neurotrophin that binds the TrkA receptor and supports survival of sympathetic neurons, nociceptive sensory neurons, and basal forebrain cholinergic populations. Because it is unconjugated, the antibody can be paired with a secondary reporter of choice for chromogenic, fluorescent, or HRP-based detection workflows.

Validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA on samples from human, mouse, and rat, the reagent is provided as a 100 µl liquid aliquot for research use only. The polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes on both the mature NGF homodimer and its precursor proNGF, which is helpful when probing tissue lysates where proteolytic processing differs across anatomical regions. Common applications include tracking neurotrophin expression in dorsal root ganglia and spinal cord for pain pathway studies, mapping NGF distribution in hippocampus and cortex in neurodegenerative disease models, and quantifying secreted NGF in conditioned media or serum samples by ELISA.
