Anti-NGAL Antibody [1G2]

The Anti-NGAL Antibody [1G2] from Antibodies.com is a mouse monoclonal reagent specific for Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Lipocalin (NGAL), also called Lipocalin-2 (LCN2), a 25 kDa secreted glycoprotein that binds siderophores and small hydrophobic ligands. The antibody is supplied as an unconjugated IgG1 in a 1 mg vial, allowing direct labelling or pairing with enzyme- and fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents for custom assay development.

NGAL is widely studied as an early biomarker of acute kidney injury, with levels rising in urine and serum within hours of renal tubular stress and well before increases in creatinine. Researchers have used the 1G2 clone in ELISA, Western blot, and lateral flow workflows to investigate sepsis-associated AKI, ischemic-reperfusion injury, chronic kidney disease progression, and neutrophil-driven inflammatory responses.

For Western blot, the antibody is commonly applied at 0.5 to 2 ug/mL against recombinant human NGAL migrating near the 25 kDa marker. Reconstitute the lyophilised product in sterile water or PBS, aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and store at -20 degrees C; refrigerated short-term working solutions should be discarded after one week.
