This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against the NFkB-p65 subunit (also known as RelA), the principal transactivating component of the canonical NF-κB transcription factor complex. The A499 designation denotes the antibody's epitope, which has been mapped to a region flanking residue 499 of the p65 sequence. Supplied as a 50 µl liquid aliquot at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the antibody is unconjugated to permit flexible pairing with secondary detection reagents of the researcher's choice.

Validated applications include western blot and immunohistochemistry, with cross-reactivity confirmed against human, mouse, and rat samples. The antibody is widely used to monitor canonical NF-κB pathway activation, evaluate IKK-dependent signaling cascades, and visualize p65 nuclear translocation following stimulation with inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α or IL-1β. Its polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes on the p65 protein, providing consistent signal across blots and tissue sections where single-epitope monoclonal reagents may fail.

For routine use, aliquot the vial upon first thaw to limit freeze-thaw cycles, protect from light, and store refrigerated between experimental sessions. This format is intended for research use only and is suitable for studies in cell culture models and primary tissue specimens.
