NFkB-p65 (also known as RelA) is the transactivating subunit of the canonical NF-kappa-B transcription factor complex and a master regulator of inflammatory, stress, and cell-survival gene programs. This affinity-purified reagent from Antibodies.com is a rabbit polyclonal antibody directed against a region of human NFkB-p65 designated A499, validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on Human, Mouse, and Rat samples. On Western blots the antibody recognizes the characteristic ~65 kDa band, supporting studies of TNF-alpha, IL-1, and LPS-driven signaling where p65 phosphorylation, IkappaBalpha degradation, and nuclear translocation are key readouts; in immunohistochemistry it produces nuclear and cytoplasmic staining in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections of inflamed or tumor tissue. Supplied as an unconjugated preparation at 1 mg/ml in Phosphate buffered saline with 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the reagent is packaged in a 100 µl vial and is compatible with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-labelled secondary antibodies for chromogenic or fluorescence detection. Intended for research use only in academic and industry laboratories studying innate immunity, chronic inflammatory disease models, oncogenic signaling, and neurodegeneration.
