This polyclonal rabbit IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against a region encompassing residue 927 of NFkB-p105, the protein encoded by the NFKB1 gene and the cytoplasmic precursor of the NF-kappaB p50 transcription factor subunit. Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antisera, it detects endogenous p105/p50 in human, mouse, and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and immunofluorescence workflows.

NFkB-p105 functions both as an IkappaB-family inhibitor of mature NF-kappaB dimers and as the precursor from which p50 is liberated by proteasomal processing. The C-terminal region containing residue 927 harbors multiple phosphorylation sites whose modification by IKK family kinases couples inflammatory and stress stimuli to p105 turnover and p50 release. Liberated p50 then dimerizes with RelA, RelB, or c-Rel to activate nuclear gene expression programs governing cytokine production, cell survival, and adaptive immunity. Anti-NFkB-p105 (Ab-927) is used to follow stimulus-dependent p105 phosphorylation, processing, and subcellular distribution across model systems ranging from stimulated macrophage cell lines to rodent tissue lysates, supporting research use only applications in signaling biology and inflammation studies.

Aliquot the antibody upon first thaw to limit freeze-thaw cycles, then store working aliquots at -20 °C and reserve a small stock at -80 °C for long-term use. For Western blotting, dilute in 5% non-fat milk in TBST and incubate blots overnight at 4 °C; for immunofluorescence on fixed cells, dilute in 1% BSA plus normal serum in PBS. The reagent is affinity-purified from rabbit serum and supplied as a ready-to-dilute liquid in a 100 µl vial volume.
