Rabbit polyclonal antibody directed against Nuclear Factor I B (NFIB), a member of the NFI transcription factor family that recognizes CCAAT-box DNA elements and controls gene expression programs linked to lung branching morphogenesis, glial progenitor differentiation, and epithelial-mesenchymal signaling during organ development.

Provided by Antibodies.com as a 50 µl vial of unconjugated IgG antiserum raised in rabbit, this primary reagent is validated for Western blot detection of human NFIB. The polyclonal format provides epitope diversity that helps when probing post-translationally modified or alternatively spliced transcription factor isoforms, and the unconjugated presentation lets researchers pair the antibody with their preferred secondary reporter (HRP, fluorophore, or biotin) and detection platform.

NFIB acts downstream of Sonic Hedgehog (SHH) signaling in pulmonary neuroendocrine cell specification and has been characterized as a lineage oncogene in small cell lung cancer. In neuroscience, NFIB is studied in neural stem cell biology and gliogenesis because its expression drives the developmental switch from neurogenic to gliogenic progenitor fate in the central nervous system.

Recommended handling: keep the vial frozen at -20 °C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the IgG preparation. The rabbit IgG isotype works with standard anti-rabbit secondary reagents across blot and imaging workflows.
