This rabbit polyclonal IgG from Antibodies.com is affinity-purified against a synthetic phospho-S518 peptide of human Neurofibromin 2 (Merlin) conjugated to Keyhole Limpet Haemocyanin, with non-phospho-specific antibodies removed by negative chromatography. Phosphorylation at Ser518 is driven by PAK1/PAK2/PAK3 in a Rac/cdc42-dependent manner and shifts Merlin from its closed, growth-suppressive conformation to an open, inactive state that redistributes away from cortical microvilli. Supplied as 200 µl of unconjugated liquid antibody, it is validated for Western blot and immunofluorescence on human, mouse, and rat samples. The reagent is used to study NF2-deficient schwannomas, meningiomas, and ependymomas, merlin-deficient tumor models, and Hippo/YAP pathway input downstream of Rac signaling.
