This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets NF2 (Neurofibromin 2), the gene encoding the Merlin tumor suppressor protein. Merlin links membrane-associated proteins to the actin cytoskeleton and regulates contact-dependent inhibition of proliferation, Hippo signaling, and receptor tyrosine kinase signaling at the cell surface.

The reagent is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum raised in rabbit, validated for both Western blot (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF) workflows on samples of human, mouse, and rat origin. The unconjugated format allows researchers to pair it with their preferred HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-conjugated secondary reagents to match specific detection platforms.

NF2 immunolabeling is widely used in studies of Neurofibromatosis type 2 and related schwannoma, meningioma, and ependymoma tumor models, as well as investigations of Merlin's role in cell migration, cytoskeletal remodeling, and tumor suppression pathways. The polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes on the target protein, which can improve signal when working with truncated or mutant isoforms.

For long-term use, aliquot the antibody upon receipt to limit freeze-thaw cycles and store frozen in working volumes; brief refrigerated storage is acceptable for active aliquots. Protect fluorescent secondaries from prolonged light exposure during imaging workflows.
