The Antibodies.com anti-NEK2 polyclonal antibody is a rabbit-hosted IgG reagent raised against NIMA-related kinase 2, a serine/threonine kinase that governs centrosome separation and mitotic progression. Supplied as a 200 µL liquid aliquot of unconjugated primary antibody, it is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows, and it cross-reacts with human and mouse samples, supporting cross-species comparative studies.

NEK2 has been investigated as a mitotic regulator and as a marker of genomic instability in cancer research. Elevated NEK2 expression has been documented in invasive breast carcinoma, where it correlates with the basal-like phenotype and with resistance to taxane-based chemotherapy, and in hepatocellular carcinoma, where high NEK2 levels are associated with shorter overall survival. Investigators also use NEK2 as a read-out of centrosome amplification and of kinetochore-microtubule attachment fidelity, making it a relevant target for cell cycle, oncology, and DNA damage response studies in cultured mammalian cells and in patient-derived tissue samples.

For stability, working aliquots should be refrigerated and long-term stocks stored frozen at -20°C in single-use vials to prevent loss of activity from repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The reagent is for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
