Anti-NEFL Antibody

Polyclonal primary antibodies from Antibodies.com raised against neurofilament light polypeptide (NEFL) support neuroscience and neuropathology research through Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows on human, mouse, and rat specimens. The unconjugated, rabbit-hosted reagent is supplied as 100 µl of antisera, validated across the three reactivity species listed.

NEFL is the ~68 kDa intermediate filament subunit that assembles into the axonal cytoskeleton of mature neurons. Mutations in the gene are linked to Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease types 1F and 2E, and the protein is widely tracked as a circulating biomarker of axonal injury in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, multiple sclerosis, and Alzheimer's-related studies. The antibody therefore serves basic neuroscience work on cytoskeletal organization alongside translational projects probing neuronal damage.

On Western blot, the reagent detects endogenous NEFL in brain lysate and cultured neuron samples; in immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence it labels axonal projections in fixed brain sections and peripheral nerve tissue.
