NEDD9 (Neural precursor cell Expressed Developmentally Down-regulated 9), also called HEF1 or Cas-L, is a focal adhesion scaffolding protein of the CAS family that organizes integrin signaling, cytoskeletal remodeling, and cell migration. Phosphorylation by FAK and Src kinases drives its role in adhesion turnover, and aberrant NEDD9 expression has been linked to invasive behavior in melanoma, breast carcinoma, and lung cancer models.
