Polyclonal rabbit antibody from Antibodies.com targets NDUFA8, an accessory subunit of mitochondrial respiratory Complex I also known as PGIV. The unconjugated reagent is supplied as 100 µl of antiserum validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA workflows, with confirmed reactivity in Human and Mouse samples.

NDUFA8 is a small integral membrane protein that localizes to the inner mitochondrial membrane, where it contributes to the assembly and stability of Complex I. Loss or dysregulation of NDUFA8 has been linked to altered NADH oxidation and mitochondrial dysfunction, making the target a relevant marker for research into oxidative phosphorylation, Leigh syndrome, and related mitochondrial disease models. The expected molecular weight is approximately 20 kDa, which is useful when interpreting Western blot banding patterns.

Researchers use this antibody to probe Complex I integrity in cell lysates and tissue homogenates, to map NDUFA8 distribution in tissue sections via immunohistochemistry, and to support immunodetection in ELISA-based panels targeting mitochondrial proteins. The unconjugated format gives users flexibility to conjugate the antibody to HRP, fluorophores, or biotin depending on the detection chemistry needed. For storage, aliquot the antibody and refrigerate; for longer-term storage freeze and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody activity.
