Anti-NDRG4 Antibody

Raised in rabbit against a synthetic peptide spanning human NDRG4 (an N-Myc downstream-regulated family member), this polyclonal IgG reagent is affinity-purified on the immunizing peptide and supplied by Antibodies.com as 100 µl of unconjugated antibody in PBS (pH 7.4) with 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol. The reagent detects endogenous NDRG4, a ~38 kDa cytoplasmic protein most abundant in brain and heart, where it supports neurite outgrowth, neuronal differentiation, and the cellular response to hypoxia and excitotoxic stress.

Validated for Western blot detection of the ~38 kDa band and for immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections, the antibody cross-reacts with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, which makes it useful for translational studies that pair rodent disease models with patient tissue. Investigators have used comparable NDRG4 antibodies to localize expression in colonic mucosa, medulloblastoma, and glioma specimens, and to study NDRG4 promoter methylation as a non-invasive biomarker in stool DNA for colorectal cancer screening.

For handling, aliquot the vial on first use and store at -20°C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles; the liquid formulation is also stable at 4°C for short-term bench work.
