Raised in rabbit against the N-Myc Downstream Regulated Gene 1 (NDRG1) protein, this polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets a 43 kDa cytoplasmic and membrane-associated phosphoprotein widely studied in cancer biology and neurobiology. NDRG1 expression is induced by hypoxia, nickel, and cellular stress through HIF-1α–dependent signaling, and it functions as a metastasis suppressor in several solid tumors, with documented downregulation in aggressive prostate and colorectal carcinomas.

Validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows, the unconjugated reagent cross-reacts with both human and mouse NDRG1. Researchers commonly use it to investigate epithelial–mesenchymal transition, stress-response pathways, iron homeostasis, and the molecular basis of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 4D, where loss-of-function mutations in NDRG1 cause demyelinating peripheral neuropathy.

Supplied as 100 µl of antiserum, the antibody should be aliquoted upon arrival to limit freeze-thaw cycles and stored refrigerated at 4°C for short-term use or frozen at -20°C in single-use aliquots for longer projects. Optimal working dilutions should be determined empirically for each application, since signal intensity varies with fixation method and tissue type.
