NCAM2 (Neural Cell Adhesion Molecule 2) is a membrane-bound glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily that mediates homophilic and heterophilic adhesion between neurons during nervous system development and synaptic plasticity. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com as a 200 µl aliquot recognizes the NCAM2 target across human, mouse, and rat samples, and is validated for western blot detection of endogenous NCAM2 in cell lysates and tissue homogenates prepared from neural sources.

The polyclonal format provides recognition of multiple epitopes across the extracellular Ig-like domains of NCAM2, supporting clear band resolution in comparative studies of adhesion molecule expression between neuronal cell lines, brain tissue, and developmental models. The unconjugated format leaves secondary antibody choice open, so the same primary can be paired with HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-conjugated secondaries for chemiluminescent, fluorescence, or affinity-based detection workflows.

Investigators working on olfactory bulb circuitry, hippocampal synapse formation, retinal ganglion cell organization, and glial–neuronal interactions use NCAM2-specific antibodies to distinguish this paralogue from the more widely studied NCAM1, which shares partial sequence homology but differs in spatial and temporal expression patterns.
