NAT1 (arylamine N-acetyltransferase 1) is a phase II xenobiotic-metabolizing enzyme that catalyzes the transfer of an acetyl group from acetyl-CoA to arylamines, hydrazines, and N-hydroxylated aromatic amines. It plays a central role in the metabolic activation and detoxification of drugs, environmental carcinogens, and aromatic amines, and is widely expressed across tissues including liver, bladder, and intestinal epithelium.
This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent, supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, is raised against NAT1 and validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples. Researchers working through Antibodies.com apply it to investigate polymorphic NAT1 variants associated with drug response and susceptibility to aromatic amine-induced carcinogenesis. Storage at -20°C with freeze-thaw protection preserves activity across multiple experiments, and the 100 µl vial format supports dozens of staining and blotting runs at typical working dilutions.
