Raised in rabbit as a polyclonal reagent, this Antibodies.com primary antibody selectively recognizes NADH-cytochrome b5 reductase 3 (CYB5R3), a flavoprotein anchored to the endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondrial outer membrane that transfers electrons from NADH to cytochrome b5. CYB5R3 supports fatty-acid elongation, cholesterol biosynthesis, and the reduction of methemoglobin to hemoglobin in circulating erythrocytes, and loss-of-function variants in the underlying gene cause recessive congenital methemoglobinemia.

Validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples, the unconjugated IgG is supplied at 100 µg per vial, providing ample material for multiple membranes or tissue sections. The rabbit host enables pairing with commonly available anti-rabbit secondary reagents, and the polyclonal format broadens epitope coverage for detection of both the full-length membrane-bound isoform and the soluble cytosolic form found in red blood cells.

Researchers investigating erythrocyte redox homeostasis, hepatic xenobiotic metabolism, or membrane-bound electron transport pathways use CYB5R3 detection to map protein expression in liver, brain, and erythroid tissues. Store refrigerated; for long-term projects, freeze working aliquots and limit freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody activity.
