MYPT1 (Myosin Phosphatase Target Subunit 1), also known as PPP1R12A, is the regulatory subunit of myosin light-chain phosphatase, the enzyme complex that controls phosphorylation of the regulatory myosin light chain and therefore smooth-muscle contractility.
