Anti-MYPT1 Antibody

Polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets myosin phosphatase target subunit 1 (MYPT1, also known as PPP1R12A), the regulatory subunit that anchors PP1cδ to phosphorylated myosin light chain and gates phosphatase activity toward the contractile apparatus.

Phosphorylation of MYPT1 at Thr696 and Thr853 by Rho-associated kinase (ROCK) is a well-characterized switch for inhibiting myosin phosphatase and sustaining contractile tone in smooth muscle, which is why this antibody is commonly used in Western blot workflows that probe ROCK/RhoA pathway activity. Researchers also apply it in immunohistochemistry of vascular and visceral tissues to localize MYPT1-expressing cells.

The unconjugated IgG is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a 100 µl vial, ready for dilution into standard immunoblotting and immunohistochemistry buffers.
