Raised in rabbit and supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated polyclonal antisera, this Antibodies.com primary antibody targets MyoD (myogenic differentiation 1), a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor that drives skeletal muscle lineage commitment. Validated for western blot and ELISA workflows, the reagent reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting studies of satellite cell activation, muscle regeneration, and rhabdomyosarcoma biology. Because MyoD functions as a master regulator of myogenesis by binding E-box motifs in muscle-specific gene promoters, detection of endogenous MyoD protein by western blot is widely used to monitor C2C12 myoblast differentiation and to characterize induced pluripotent stem cell-derived myotubes. The polyclonal host response enables recognition of multiple epitopes on the MyoD protein, an advantage when working with lysates or tissue sections that show variable expression levels.
