Anti-MYO5C Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent targets myosin-Vc (MYO5C), a 203 kDa class V unconventional myosin motor that powers ATP-dependent vesicle movement along actin filaments in exocrine and polarized epithelial cells. The unconjugated antibody is supplied by Antibodies.com as a 50 µl aliquot and is validated for western blot detection of endogenous MYO5C in human and mouse samples such as cell lysates and tissue homogenates.

MYO5C supports membrane trafficking between the plasma membrane and recycling compartments, and has been localized to the apical domain of pancreatic acini, lacrimal gland, and intestinal epithelium. Researchers use this reagent to compare expression across myosin-V isoforms, to probe transferrin receptor recycling pathways, and to investigate compound fusion of mature secretory vesicles. Because the antibody is unconjugated, it pairs cleanly with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies in indirect detection schemes.
