Offered by Antibodies.com, this primary antibody is a rabbit polyclonal reagent raised against MYLK (myosin light chain kinase), supplied in a 50 µl volume at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2. The unconjugated antibody has been validated for Western blot (WB) and reacts with human, mouse and rat samples, making it suitable for cross-species studies of smooth-muscle and non-muscle myosin light chain kinase isoforms (also known as MLCK, MLCK1, MYLK1, smMLCK, KRP and telokin). Being a polyclonal, the reagent recognises multiple epitopes on the target and is affinity-purified from rabbit serum, with the host isotype IgG providing the immunoglobulin backbone. The product belongs to the Antibodies.com Primary Antibodies category and is intended for research use in detecting endogenous MYLK protein by immunoblotting. For routine work a starting dilution around 1:500–1:1000 is recommended for WB, with optimisation according to sample and detection system. The liquid formulation contains0.05% sodium azide as a preservative and should be handled with the standard precautions for azide-containing reagents; for long-term storage keep the vial frozen at –20 °C in aliquots to avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles, with short-term storage at 4 °C acceptable for active use. Each vial is shipped cold and is dispatched from the Antibodies.com distribution network via AFMS, the authorised regional channel that supplies life-science research reagents.
