This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets MYL3, the gene encoding ventricular myosin light chain 1 (MLC1v), a sarcomeric calcium-binding protein expressed in cardiac ventricular myocytes and in slow-twitch skeletal muscle fibers. The reagent is a rabbit polyclonal IgG, supplied unconjugated in a 100 µl volume, and has been validated for Western blot (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF) applications on human, mouse, and rat samples.

MYL3 is a well-established marker of ventricular cardiomyocyte identity and is routinely used in studies of cardiac lineage specification, sarcomere assembly, and stem-cell-derived cardiomyocyte maturation. Mutations in MYL3 are associated with familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), so the antibody is frequently used in disease-model research that examines contractile protein composition and remodelling. Circulating MLC1v is also released following ischemic myocardial injury, making antibodies against this protein useful in cardiovascular biomarker studies.

As a polyclonal reagent, the antibody recognizes multiple epitopes across the MYL3 sequence, improving tolerance for minor protein variation and supporting robust detection in whole-tissue lysates and fixed-cell preparations. The unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with secondary reagents of the researcher's choice, including HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondaries, depending on the chosen application.
