The MYH9 gene encodes non-muscle myosin heavy chain IIA, a cytoskeletal motor protein essential for cell migration, cytokinesis, adhesion, and platelet biogenesis. Mutations in MYH9 underlie a group of autosomal-dominant disorders collectively termed MYH9-related disease, including May-Hegglin anomaly, Fechtner syndrome, Sebastian syndrome, and Evans syndrome, which present with macrothrombocytopenia, leukocyte inclusions, and in some cases sensorineural hearing loss, cataracts, or glomerulonephritis. This unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and validated for western blot detection of the IIA heavy chain in lysates prepared from human and rat origin samples.

Supplied as 100 µl of antibody at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the vial ships ready to dilute into standard blotting workflows. Researchers studying megakaryocyte maturation, cytoskeletal remodeling, or neutrophil migration frequently pair anti-MYH9 detection with markers such as beta-tubulin or GAPDH on parallel lanes of the same membrane. The polyclonal format broadens epitope coverage across the IIA heavy chain, supporting recognition of full-length protein, isoforms, and proteolytic fragments that monoclonal reagents may miss.

Store refrigerated in the original vial to preserve activity; for working stocks, prepare single-use aliquots and freeze at -20 °C or below to limit freeze-thaw cycles. Protect from light owing to the azide-preserved buffer. The reagent is supplied for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
