This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets the MyD88 adaptor protein, a ~33 kDa cytoplasmic signaling molecule that bridges Toll-like receptor (TLR) and interleukin-1 receptor (IL-1R) activation to downstream NF-κB and MAPK cascades. Raised in rabbit, the antibody is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, in a 100 µl vial that should be stored at -20 °C, with aliquots recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles.

Validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows, the reagent recognizes the target in human, mouse, and rat tissue samples, supporting comparative studies of innate immune signaling, inflammatory disease models, and host-pathogen response research. The unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with secondary antibodies labeled with HRP, fluorophores, or biotin depending on the detection platform.

Researchers commonly deploy this reagent to probe TLR pathway activation in macrophage and dendritic cell populations, to assess MyD88-dependent signaling in knockout versus wild-type controls, and to map protein expression in paraffin-embedded or frozen tissue sections. As a research use only reagent, it pairs well with cell culture lysates and isogenic control lines used to dissect TLR and IL-1 family signaling in vitro.
