Raised in rabbit against the MX2 interferon-induced GTPase, this unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com supports western blot analysis of human, mouse, and rat samples. The antibody is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, and is intended for research use only in studies of innate antiviral defense, including HIV-1 restriction and interferon-stimulated gene regulation.

Each vial contains 100 µl of antibody, sufficient for multiple immunoblot experiments. MX2, sometimes called MxB, is a member of the dynamin superfamily that localizes to the cytoplasmic face of the nuclear envelope and restricts viral replication by interfering with nucleocytoplasmic transport of incoming viral genomes. Researchers commonly probe the approximately 82 kDa protein in whole-cell lysates, and aliquoting the antibody upon arrival helps minimize freeze-thaw cycles during long-term storage.
