MUTYH is a DNA glycosylase essential for base excision repair, excising adenines misincorporated opposite 8-oxoguanine to prevent G:C to T:A transversions. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com targets the human and mouse MUTYH protein, offering a primary antibody for studying oxidative DNA damage pathways and mechanisms of colorectal tumorigenesis tied to MUTYH-associated polyposis. Supplied at 200 µl per vial, the antibody is validated for western blot probing of denatured protein lysates, immunofluorescence imaging of fixed cellular specimens, and flow cytometry analysis of MUTYH-expressing cell populations. Its polyclonal nature means multiple epitopes along the MUTYH sequence are recognized, which can improve detection sensitivity in samples with low target abundance and offer greater tolerance for minor conformational variations between human and mouse orthologs. Researchers investigating BER pathway fidelity, 8-oxoG lesion processing, or genotype–phenotype correlations in MAP patients will find this reagent compatible with standard laboratory protocols.
