This unconjugated mouse monoclonal antibody from Antibodies.com specifically recognizes Musashi-1 (MSI1), an evolutionarily conserved RNA-binding protein that serves as a marker for neural and intestinal stem and progenitor cell populations. The reagent is supplied as 100 µL of purified IgG and is validated for Western blot analysis, with cross-reactivity confirmed against human, mouse, and rat samples.
Musashi-1 research applications extend across neural stem cell biology, gastrointestinal stem cell studies, and investigations into cancers where MSI1 is overexpressed, including glioblastoma and colorectal carcinoma. The antibody is formulated in 0.1 M Tris-Glycine buffer (pH 7.4) containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.2% sodium azide as a preservative, and 50% glycerol for storage stability.
For Western blot workflows, the antibody is incubated with PVDF or nitrocellulose membranes following SDS-PAGE separation of cell or tissue lysates, then paired with anti-mouse secondary reagents such as HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated IgG for chemiluminescent or fluorescent detection of the MSI1 band.
