This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets Mucin 1 (MUC1), a type I transmembrane glycoprotein widely studied as a marker of glandular epithelial differentiation and adenocarcinomas. Supplied as 100 µL of unconjugated antiserum, it has been validated for Western blot and ELISA workflows. Cross-reactivity is reported against Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, supporting translational studies across common model systems and patient-derived material.

MUC1 carries a large extracellular tandem-repeat domain rich in serine, threonine, and proline residues; in normal tissue the protein is restricted to the apical surface of ductal epithelia, whereas tumor cells commonly show overexpression, loss of polarity, and aberrant O-glycosylation that exposes underlying core protein epitopes. The reagent can therefore be used to probe full-length and cleaved MUC1 in cell lysates, to monitor expression changes during epithelial-mesenchymal transition studies, and to characterize carcinoma cell lines in vitro.

As a polyclonal reagent raised in rabbit, it offers multi-epitope recognition across the cytoplasmic tail and extracellular domain, useful when investigating post-translational modification patterns or splice variants that alter antibody binding in immunohistochemistry and immunoblotting applications.
