Raised in rabbits against the MUC6 target, this polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2. The reagent is validated for Western blot workflows and has been characterized for reactivity with human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative studies across these three species.

MUC6 is a large gel-forming secretory mucin expressed predominantly by mucous cells of the gastric body and antrum, Brunner's glands of the proximal duodenum, the gallbladder epithelium, and centroacinar cells of the pancreas. Investigators working on gastric mucosal defense, Helicobacter pylori pathogenesis, peptic ulcer disease, intestinal metaplasia, and pancreaticobiliary disorders rely on anti-MUC6 reagents to monitor expression shifts that accompany these conditions. Aberrant upregulation or silencing of MUC6 is also a recurring observation in studies of gastric carcinoma, mucinous cystic neoplasms, and intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms of the pancreas.

Each vial contains 100 µl of antibody. Store refrigerated between uses and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity. The included sodium azide makes the preparation unsuitable for live-cell applications; for Western blot, the antibody can be paired with an HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagent specific for rabbit IgG.
