Anti-MUC2 Antibody

Produced in rabbits and validated for human samples, this polyclonal reagent targets the secreted gel-forming mucin MUC2, the dominant structural glycoprotein produced by intestinal goblet cells. The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum, applicable to both Western blotting and immunohistochemistry workflows on paraffin or frozen tissue sections. In western blot, detection of endogenous MUC2 typically yields a high-molecular-weight band reflecting the heavily O-glycosylated full-length apoprotein. For IHC, the reagent produces cytoplasmic and perinuclear staining in goblet cells of human colonic and small intestinal epithelium, supporting its routine use as a marker of mucinous differentiation when characterizing colorectal and gastrointestinal neoplasms. Raised against a MUC2 immunogen and affinity purified, the reagent is intended for research use only and should be stored refrigerated in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw damage to the antibody.
