This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com specifically recognizes the mechanistic Target of Rapamycin (mTOR) phosphorylated at the P2476 epitope, a regulatory serine residue within the kinase domain. Raised in rabbit, the reagent is supplied as an unconjugated preparation at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2.

The antibody is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows and has been confirmed to react with human, mouse, and rat samples. Each vial contains 50 µl of antibody stock, which can be diluted into working solutions for multiple membrane or tissue staining experiments. For best stability, aliquot upon arrival and store frozen at -20 °C, protecting the solution from repeated freeze-thaw cycles; the sodium azide preservative keeps the antibody safe from microbial contamination during active use on the bench.

mTOR integrates nutrient, growth factor, and stress signals to coordinate protein synthesis, autophagy, and cell growth, and phosphorylation at serine 2476 has been linked to modulation of mTORC1 signaling output. Researchers studying PI3K/AKT pathway activity, cancer cell proliferation, insulin signaling, or autophagy regulation in cell culture and tissue models can use this reagent to probe endogenous phosphorylated mTOR levels. The polyclonal format provides recognition of multiple epitopes surrounding the phospho-site, which can strengthen signal in western blot applications where single-clone antibodies show weaker binding.
