Anti-MTERF Antibody

The polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets MTERF (Mitochondrial Transcription Termination Factor), a nuclear-encoded regulator of human mitochondrial transcription that terminates ribosomal RNA synthesis at defined sites on the mitochondrial genome. Useful in studies of mtDNA gene expression, organellar protein import, and mitochondrial disorders, the antibody supports research workflows that link MTERF levels to oxidative phosphorylation capacity and respiratory chain function.

Raised in rabbit and supplied unconjugated, the reagent is validated for Western blot detection of the target in human cell and tissue lysates, and for immunohistochemistry localization on fixed sections. The unconjugated format allows researchers to pair it with their preferred HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated anti-rabbit secondary reagent for either chromogenic or immunofluorescence readouts.

Provided as a 100 µl vial of polyclonal antiserum, the reagent should be handled as an aliquoted research reagent: aliquot upon first thaw to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and store refrigerated; for longer-term holding, freeze working aliquots at -20°C.
