Mitochondrial carrier homolog 2 (MTCH2) is a multi-pass mitochondrial inner membrane protein that serves as a receptor-like target for the pro-apoptotic BH3 interacting-domain death agonist (Bid), coupling mitochondrial outer membrane permeabilization to programmed cell death. Genome-wide association studies have repeatedly linked MTCH2 single-nucleotide polymorphisms to elevated body mass index and obesity risk, and expression studies have shown MTCH2 is enriched in human white adipose tissue, adipocytes, hippocampal neurons, and liver. This Antibodies.com primary antibody reagent is a rabbit polyclonal IgG reactive with human and mouse MTCH2, supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated solution in phosphate-buffered saline with 0.02% sodium azide and validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry applications. The unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents for chromogenic or fluorescence detection workflows. Endogenous MTCH2 is detected as a band of approximately 33 kDa in western blot lysates, and the polyclonal format permits recognition of multiple epitopes for strong signal across formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections and freshly prepared cell lysates from adipose, hepatic, and neural sources.
