Supplied by Antibodies.com, this polyclonal reagent targets MT-ND3 (NADH-ubiquinone oxidoreductase chain 3), a mitochondrially-encoded transmembrane subunit of Complex I (NADH dehydrogenase) in the respiratory chain. The target plays a central role in coupling electron transfer to proton translocation across the inner mitochondrial membrane and is encoded by the mitochondrial genome rather than nuclear DNA.

Raised in rabbit and validated for Western blot, the unconjugated antibody is provided at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide, at approximately pH 7.2, and is shipped in a 100 µl vial. Cross-reactivity has been confirmed against human, mouse, and rat samples, enabling translational work spanning rodent tissues, established cell lines, and patient-derived material.

MT-ND3 is a frequent focus of mitochondrial-disease research, where pathogenic point mutations have been linked to disorders such as Leigh syndrome, mitochondrial encephalomyopathy with lactic acidosis and stroke-like episodes (MELAS), and Leber hereditary optic neuropathy. Investigators studying oxidative phosphorylation, reactive oxygen species generation, and mitochondrial biogenesis can use this Antibodies.com reagent to assess Complex I subunit expression under metabolic, pharmacological, or genetic perturbations.
