The MSH2 protein is a central component of the DNA mismatch repair (MMR) pathway, where it partners with MSH6 to form the MutSα heterodimer that recognizes base-base mismatches and small insertion-deletion loops generated during replication. This rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody, raised against human MSH2, is supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl liquid aliquot in a single vial, unconjugated and validated for western blot, immunofluorescence, and flow cytometry applications.
Researchers use the reagent to probe MMR status in patient-derived samples and cell lines, including studies of microsatellite instability in colorectal, endometrial, and other Lynch syndrome-associated tumors, as well as mechanistic work on repair factor recruitment to chromatin. The antibody is hosted in rabbit, isotype IgG, and is intended for research use only. For long-term storage, aliquot the antibody upon arrival and store the working stock frozen at -20 °C; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, keep routine dilutions refrigerated, and protect all working solutions from light.
