Anti-MSH2 Antibody

This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets MSH2 (MutS Homolog 2), a central component of the DNA mismatch repair (MMR) machinery that corrects base–base mismatches and small insertion–deletion loops generated during replication. MSH2 partners with MSH6 to form the MutSα complex and with MSH3 to form MutSβ, each recognizing distinct lesion types; loss-of-function variants in MSH2 are causally linked to Lynch syndrome (hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer) and drive microsatellite instability in sporadic colorectal, endometrial, gastric, and ovarian tumors.

Raised in rabbit, the unconjugated reagent is supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum and is validated for Western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF) workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples. Researchers commonly deploy it to probe MMR proficiency in tumor tissue microarrays, to stratify patient samples by MSH2 expression alongside MLH1, PMS2, and MSH6, and to characterize MMR-deficient cell line models used in synthetic-lethality studies with PARP inhibitors or other targeted agents.
