MRPL42 (Mitochondrial Ribosomal Protein L42) is a structural component of the large 39S subunit of the mammalian mitochondrial ribosome, contributing to the translation of mitochondrially encoded subunits of the oxidative phosphorylation complexes. The polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and validated for Western blot detection of endogenous MRPL42 across human, mouse, and rat sample lysates, supporting cross-species mitochondrial translation research.

Each vial is supplied as 100 µL of unconjugated antibody at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.3, and is compatible with standard SDS-PAGE workflows followed by immunoblotting of whole-cell or mitochondrial-enriched fractions. Researchers investigating mitochondrial ribosome assembly, mitochondrial-encoded protein synthesis, and the molecular basis of mitochondrial disease use this reagent to track expression of MRPL42 in patient-derived cells, knockout models, and stress-response paradigms. The polyclonal antibody format broadens epitope coverage, increasing the likelihood of detecting the target even when conformational or post-translational variation is present.
